Guidelines for RCIA

Active participation in the classes. At St. Alphonsus the classes are held every Monday evening from 7-9 pm, beginning in September. Attendance is required for those who desire to be fully initiated in the Church.

•  Participation in the rituals / events that mark key points during the process, which include:
  1. Rite of Acceptance and Welcome
  2. Breaking Open the Word Sessions
  3. Rite of Sending / Election
  4. The Scrutinies
  5. A Morning Retreat
  6. Initiation at the Easter Vigil

• Close association with a person designated as a sponsor for this journey of faith. Specific guidelines for sponsors are available from the RCIA Director.

• Participation in a discernment period at two designated steps in the process.
