Safe Environment at St Alphonsus Catholic Church
The safety of our parishioners, especially our children and vulnerable adults, is of paramount importance to us. Our parish is committed to creating a safe environment for everyone and we are dedicated to following the Safe Environment guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
Essential 3
As part of our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable among us, all employees and all volunteers in parish leadership as well as volunteers who have regular or unsupervised contact with minor children, the elderly, or vulnerable adults are required to undergo a Safe Environment credentialing process commonly referred to as the "Essential 3".

Reporting Abuse:
If you suspect abuse of a minor, your first call should be to law enforcement or 911.
Sexual abuse by a priest, deacon or a staff member or volunteer of the Church within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis should be reported first to law enforcement, then to the Archdiocese’s Victim Assistance Program at 651-291-4475.
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis has partnered with Canvas Health, an independent, trusted local organization, to offer those abused by members of the clergy or others representing the Catholic Church a safe and compassionate place to come forward.
Independent professionals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you in obtaining services such as professional counseling and pastoral care. For confidential, compassionate assistance, contact Canvas Health at 651-291-4497.
To report sexual abuse or related misconduct by a Catholic bishop, you are encouraged to first contact law enforcement. To report such abuse or misconduct to the Church, you should contact the Catholic Bishop Abuse Reporting (CBAR) service.
Individuals may go to ReportBishopAbuse.org to make a report in English or Spanish.
