I'm New

Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us or talk with a parishioner or priest during your visit.

Saturday: 5:00 pm (English; Anticipation)
Sunday: 8:00 & 10am (English)

Domingo: 12:30 pm (Español)

Weekday | Día de la Semana:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 am (English)
Wednesday: 6:30 pm (English)

Martes y Jueves: 6:30 pm (Español)

WHEN IS CONFESSION AVAILABLE?

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered Saturdays at 8:30 am and 4:00 pm, with additional times available in Lent and Advent. Confessions are also available by appointment; please contact the parish office (763-561-5100/parishoffice@mystals.org) to schedule an individual time.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We want you to feel comfortable. We are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. In the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! However, we do request that in general, clothing be respectable and conservative.

HOW DO I GET TO THE PARISH?

Our Parish is located at 7025 Halifax Ave N, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429. There are multiple parking lots available. Here is a map.

WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?

We believe it is important for children of all ages to attend Mass with their families. We have kids bags located in the main entry that families can borrow during Mass to help children engage with the liturgy. For those with young children that may need to step out of the main sanctuary, a closed door room is located near the choir loft which has large windows and a sound system to allow you to hear and participate in the Mass.

During the 10:30 am Sunday Mass, we often have a Children's Liturgy of the Word, where children in grades K-5 are invited to a special time of learning and prayer set apart from Mass. Newcomers are always welcome to join us!

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO SIT, STAND, AND KNEEL?

There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during worship. Most visitors just follow the lead of the our parishioners. However, we do have worship aids located inside the hymnals in each pew that provide you with the order of the Mass and the words to each prayer. If you don't see a worship aid in your pew, ask an usher, and they will be happy to bring you one.

Missalettes containing the full order of Mass and the scripture readings for each Sunday are located in the small shelves at the end of the main aisles. Please feel free to take one, use it during Mass, and return it on your way out.

AM I EXPECTED TO PUT MONEY IN THE OFFERING?

If you are visiting us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving on a weekly basis. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can sign up for online giving here
